Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today conveyed a message, thereby urging the citizens to donate blood on the occasion of marking the World Blood Donor Day, the presidential press service has reported.
„This is a good we are thinking about and which we appreciate in the most critical moments of our life or of the lives of our relatives, and so much the more higher its value is. A good which saves lives and which can be completed and maintained through the participation of each of us. By donating blood and helping other people, we can be sure that, in need, we will be helped as well,’’ the Moldovan president said.
The head of state noted that, in Moldova, as well as all over the world, the Covid-19 pandemic had meant also a decrease in the number of blood donors and this had repercussions on the reserves in hospitals. ‘’To supply the physicians and patients with blood reserves, to be sure that nobody will ever lose a dear person because of the lack of blood, I urge you to donate blood. I encourage especially young people to become voluntary donors – the rescuing of a life, may it be of an unknown person, is the greatest gift which we can do on the Earth,’’ Maia Sandu added.
