Pupils from south Moldova town to enjoy better conditions for education

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The building of the Matei Basarab theoretical lyceum from the southern Basarabeasca town has undergone energy optimization within a project financed by the European Union and implemented by the South Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud).     

The ADR leadership has recently made a monitoring visit to the site, in order to verify the carrying out of the works for the institution’s restoration and sign the additional agreements within the project, Enhancement of energy efficiency, from which the school of Basarabeasca benefits.  

“The sum provided for by the additional agreements worth five million lei will be used for the construction of the roof and purchasing of two lifts for disabled people,’’ SDR Sud sources told MOLDPRES.  

The initial sum of the project, worth 19 million lei, from EU sources, is used for the building’s energy optimization, construction of sewerage system, ventilation and setting the thermal point – ‘’everything to provide the lyceum with working conditions at the highest level.’’  

The Basarabeasca local council contributed with a sum of 734,335 lei for the arrangement of the green area and relaxation on the territory of the institution.

„Those over 230 pupils will continue their studies in a better environment, will socialize on already brighter corridors and will enjoy good hygienic and sanitary conditions in any classroom,’’ according to the South Regional Development Agency.
