Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - The mission of observers of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) today held a news conference, during which it unveiled the findings of the monitoring. The mission members said the electoral process had been held with no major incidents.

Those 17 ENEMO observers and experts monitored 158 polling stations and will remain in Moldova till the end of the electoral process. The ENEMO report will be issued in 60 days after the confirmation of the results.

The observers said the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) had managed the last Sunday ballot efficiently and transparently. The day of elections was carried out calmly, although some minor incidents were ascertained. The environment of the electoral campaign was calm, yet more aggressive in the last two weeks and the contenders’ financial reports were submitted in time.

„Although some of the most important decisions by the Central Electoral Commission doubted the impartiality of some CEC members, the electoral campaign was competitive, yet affected by a string of alleged infringements, including the abusive use of administrative resources, illegal financing and buying of votes,’’ the head of the ENEMO International Election Observation Mission, Zlatko Vujovic, said.

Also today, the observers of the Commonwealth of Independent States unveiled their conclusions on the parliamentary elections in Moldova, noting that they had been held in accordance with the provisions of the law and the COVID-19 pandemic did not hit the political pluralism.
