Information note on holding of contest of National Prize 2021 in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - The commission for awarding the National Prize has held its second meeting. The participants in the event considered the recommendation letters submitted by the candidates in the term established, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

According to the provisions of the Regulation on the contest, the recommendation letters were examined through the light of observance of the criteria and requirements announced. It is worth mentioning that candidates from various sectors were put forward, among which science, culture, theatre, medicine and sport. Also, the composition of the groups of experts according to sectors, who will consider the competitors’ files, was approved.   

Thus, 25 candidates were promoted to the next stage of the contest, who are to submit the files, with the observance of the provisions of the point 21 from the Regulation on the National Prize, approved through the Government Decision No 504/2018, on the period 15-23 July 2021, till 15:00, exclusively in electronic format, to the email: [email protected].      

Additionally, the content of the file must include a recommendation on behalf of a competent institution, other than from the working place or the institution by which the candidate was put forward. The scientific works or publications should also be submitted in electronic format or in form of reference to the source of publication, where they can be accessed in electronic format.

It is worth being mentioned that the laureates of the National Prize, the 2021 edition, will receive their distinctions at the Gala of the Contest, due to be held on 26 August.  

The government annually awards up to ten National Prizes for outstanding achievements which have substantially enriched the science, technologies, culture art and sport, contributed to the promotion of the country’s positive image internationally and had a considerable impact on the technical, scientific, social and economic progress, on the culture from Moldova.
