Moldovan cabinet supports cancellation of offshore secret

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- Offshore secret will be canceled in order to ensure maximum transparency in the activity of companies from the Republic of Moldova. The government approved today a note on amendment of the Law on State Registration of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

According to the document, the list of beneficial owners of all companies with founders in jurisdictions that do not ensure transparency will be published. Citizens' access to information from the State Register on beneficial owners will be provided by the Public Services Agency. The information will be accessible on all existing platforms for publishing open data about companies.

The new provisions will help ensure the economic stability of the state, prevent corruption, tax evasion and money laundering.
