Employees due to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to receive days off in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The employees will benefit from more support measures on the period of emergency state in the public health sector. The parliament approved a draft law to this effect in the second reading today.
Thus, if the education process is held online, once the competent authorities instruct special measures for ensuring the security, protection of the life and health of residents, with the employer’s agreement, days off will be provided to one of the parents or the tutor, for children’s supervision. On this period, the employee will receive an allowance equal to at least 50 per cent of the basic salary.
At the same time, the employees due to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will receive days off, with the maintaining of the average salary. In this respect, the government will establish compensations from the state budget for the employers who provide this facility to employees.
The lawmakers also approved the completion of the Labour Code with an article, which will allow the employer to establish a reduced working regime for at least one fourth of all employees. The wage earners with reduced activity regime will be paid the salary according to the time effectively worked and the difference will be partially paid from the state budget.
Expenditures worth 285 million lei are envisaged for the implementation of these measures.
