New COVID-19 drug approved by AMDM

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- A new COVID-19 drug, Molnupiravir, has been approved by the Commission for authorization of import of unauthorized pharmaceutical products in Moldova under the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AMDM).

It approved by the UK Medicines Authority (MHRA) has a specific indication for SARS-CoV-2 treatment. It is an oral antiviral that reduces the ability of COVID-19 virus to multiply in the body, thus preventing serious forms of the disease.

AMDM also authorized the import of Remdesivir - an antiviral solution for infusion, used to treat moderate to severe forms of COVID-19. In the Republic of Moldova, it is used in the treatment of COVID-19 infection in adults and teenagers with pneumonia requiring oxygen therapy.
