Moldovan electoral body announces peculiarities of 5 December voting

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has informed about the peculiarities of the 5 December voting, when the runoff of the new local elections will be held in the Balti municipality and another five rural settlements.
According to the central electoral authority, the right to vote is exercised in conditions similar to the first round of the polls and based on the same electoral lists.
At the same time, the people who turned 18 on the period between the first and the second rounds of the elections will be able to vote at the polling stations according to their residence, being included in the additional electoral list. The people who changed their residence on the period between the first and the second rounds of the elections will be able to vote based on the same electoral lists at the polling stations according to the registration of the residence existing on the date of the holding of the first round of the ballot.
The electors who submitted applications on the voting at the place of their residence at the first round of the elections can exercise their right to vote at the runoff election as well, except for the case when they give up this right in the same way they got it. At the adoption of the decision on the carrying of the mobile ballot box, the electoral bureau of the polling station will confirm the requests for the first round of the elections, in the order in which they were submitted.
The observers accredited for monitoring the new local polls from 21 November have right to carry out their work at the runoff election as well.
CEC informs that the organized carriage of voters to polling stations will not be able to be made at the 5 December elections too. The restriction is not applied in the case of the road passenger transport against payment through special regular services, road passenger transport against payment for occasional services, road passenger transport at one’s own expense and road transport against payment in taxi regime, with the obligation to document these cases.
