Moldova's National Extraordinary Public Health Commission to hold new meeting, given increase in number of people infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) will hold a new meeting till the end of this week, in order to approve new decisions and restrictions, given an alarming increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita made statements to this effect in the beginning of a cabinet meeting today.
According to the PM, CNESP will rule about the actions necessary in the context of a new pandemic wave, as well as on the protection measures due to be implemented.
The today’s cabinet meeting was held in the online format. Also, more universities from the Moldovan capital informed that they were returning to the online education.
A record number of cases of infection with COVID-19 were registered in Moldova on 18 January – 2,861 and the overall number of cases reached 393,423.
