Chisinau, March 1 / MOLDPRES /- The State Hydrometeorological Service has announced yellow code for sudden change in the weather until March 4.
According to meteorologists, on March 1-3 in the southeast, precipitation is expected in the form of snow and sleet (7-10 l / m2). On a large part of the territory, intensifications of the northwest wind are expected in gusts of up to 15-18 m / s.
At the same time, during the reference period the weather will cool down, registering up to 8 degrees of frost at night and between minus 2 - plus 3 degrees Celsius, during the day.
According to SHS, among the meteorological phenomena, the biggest danger in March is presented by the strong wind and the abundant snow. These are reported on average once in 6 years. Intensive frost deposits (on average once in 20 years) and strong blisters (on average once in 40 years) are also possible.
The thawing of the soil to a depth of 30 cm is usually signaled between March 10-17, the total thaw - between March 11-20. The thinning of the soil to a soft plastic consistency is generally observed between March 18-28, being an index of the optimal terms for the beginning of the tillage in the period preceding the sowing.
