New local elections to take place in central district of Moldova

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - The elections for the local council of the Bobeica commune, central Hancesti district, will take place following the lift of the emergency state.    

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, took note of the notification of the mayor of the Bobeica commune, as to the meeting of the conditions for the de jure dissolution of the local council.   

The infringement of the provisions from the law on the local public administration served as reason for the dissolution of the local council and launch of new elections. The local council from Bobeica have not held meetings during six months in a row and adopted no decision.

The central electoral authority ascertained the existence of circumstances for the organization of new local elections in this settlement. The decision on establishing the date of the ballot will be taken by CEC after the lift of the emergency state or after the parliament amends the decision, under which emergency state was declared on the entire territory of Moldova.
