Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu in Brussels had a meeting with the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso. The meeting was held shortly after EBRD last week had signed a loan worth 300 million euros for backing the procurements of natural gas for Moldova, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
„This will allow us becoming more resilient to the energy challenges through accessing new alternatives of delivery of natural gas from the European area,’’ the Moldovan official said.
At the same time, at the meeting, Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu stressed the importance of the subsequent cooperation for the benefit of the citizens, with an enhanced emphasis on the energy security and development of infrastructure projects in Moldova.
