Consignment of cheese withdrawn from sale in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) today instructed the withdrawal of a consignment of cheese which does not meet the food norms.
According to ANSA, specialists detected alien fats in a batch of 5-per cent fresh cow cheese made by a producer of dairy products from the northern Floresti district. The producer has already initiated the procedure of withdrawal from the trade network and recalling from clients of the product made on 27 June and which expires on 1 July.
Under the legislation in force, operators in the food sector, which hold non-conforming products, are obliged to withdraw them from market and cooperate with ANSA as to the actions undertaken, in order to avoid or reduce the risks for the human health, well as the misleading of end consumers.
Food sector operators who hold non-conforming food products, who did not take measures to withdraw these products from market, are liable to legal responsibility.
The people who bought these products are asked not to consume them and have right to return them to the shop where they purchased them.
