Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, at a today’s cabinet meeting, asked the Economics Ministry to make an analysis of the impact of the increase in the interest rates of the beneficiaries of the First Home programme and to work out mechanisms of compensation of the payment difference.
The PM said that, this week, the programme’s beneficiaries had received notifications on the increase in the interest rate. ‘’It is about the socially vulnerable families, for which it is difficult to pay this increased rate. Therefore, I ask the Economics and Finance Ministries to hold discussions with the banks and establish compensations for these categories of people. It is necessary that we make sure that the beneficiaries will be able to pay this payment difference,’’ Gavrilita noted.
For is part, Economics Minister Sergiu Gaibu gave assurances that they had initiated discussions on the matter. ‘’Next week, accurate proposals will be presented on the additional financial support for these categories of beneficiaries,’’ Gaibu said.
The First Home programme was launched in March 2018. More than 8,000 dwellings have been purchased within this programme so far.
