Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The degree of transparency of the work of the Interior Ministry (MAI) employees will be enhanced and the corruption acts and incidents at work will be reduced. The cabinet of ministers today approved the Concept of the portable Information System of video supervision, Body Camera, and the regulation on the its organization and work, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Under the concept, the use of video cameras will contribute to raising the responsibility of employees while fulfilling their job duties and the video recordings will be able to be used as evidence for the ascertaining of the existence or inexistence of a contravention/offence or of disciplinary infringements.
The introduction of data into the system will be made based on the recordings made by the body camera. The term of preservation of the recordings is 180 days after which they will be automatically erased, in the order of their stocking in the server. The information will be preserved on the common governmental technological platform (MCloud) and the data registered here will not be able to be accessed by an unauthorized third party.
At the same time, under the regulation, the body cameras will be used visibly and open, with the compulsory informing on this fact of the people with whom MAI employees interact. The video registration will be started compulsorily at interventions based on emergency calls, at the investigation on the spot of offences and contraventions, carrying out of searches and when there is danger to the life and security of the MAI employee.
So far, the use of body cameras has been regulated provisionally, based on a departmental act by the General Police Inspectorate.
