Four persons, of whom two minors, drown in lake in south Moldova

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - Four people, of whom two minors, today drowned in a lake from the Meseni village, southern Comrat district.   

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), rescuers from southern Moldova were asked to intervene, in order to recover the corpses of persons who drowned after the boat in which they floated had capsized in the middle of the lake.  

Arrived on the spot, rescuers and divers noticed the body of a minor on the surface of water. The dead child, aged two and a half years, was extracted 20 metres far from the capsized inflatable boat.   

Presently, divers continue the searches under water, in order to recover the bodies of another three persons, who had presumably drowned.  

Law-enforcers are to establish all circumstances of the case.  

According to IGSU, 20 people had died in water basins from Moldova, of whom one minor, since the beginning of this year.
