Departed Moldovan actor, humorist would have turned 65

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - The departed actor, humorist and lyricist, Pavel Bechet, would have turned 65 years today.
Pavel Bechet was born in the Vadul-Leca village, central Telenesti district, on 5 July 1957. He graduated from the Moldovan State University (USM) and the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute from Chisinau. Bechet worked at the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre and the Licurici Republican Puppet Theatre. During years, he cooperated with the Teleradio-Moldova Company. Pavel Bechet distinguished himself in recitals; he wrote lyrics for more songs, humorous dialogues.
In 2000, the actor was awarded the Civic Merit Medal ‘’for prodigious creative activity, essential contribution to the propagation of national values and high artistic mastership.’’
Pavel Bechet died of an incurable disease on 8 July 2002. Starting from 2007, the gymnasium from his native village, Vadul-Leca, has been bearing his name.
