Well-known Moldovan light music singer marks birthday

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - A well-known light music singer, People’s Artist Anastasia Lazariuc marks her birthday today.

Anastasia Lazariuc was born in the Bacioi village, central Ialoveni district, in 1953. In 1980, she finished the Stefan Neaga musical school and in 1985 – the Chisinau-based Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute.

During 1975-1978, Lazariuc was soloist of the Smericica band from Chernivtsi and in 1978-1992 – soloist of the Light Music Orchestra of the Moldovan Television and Radio. She cooperated with more famous composers from Moldova.

A book titled, ”Privighetoarea din vis” (The Dream Nightingale), dedicated to the life and work of the light music singer, Anastasia Lazariuc, signed by writer Elena Raileanu, was launched at the Musical Saloon at the National Library of Moldova on 12 May.

Anastasia Lazariuc made more tours abroad. She was awarded the titles of Merited Artist, People’s Artist and Order of the Republic.
