Chisinau, August 15 /MOLDPRES/- The access road to Beleu lake in Slobozia Mare village, Cahul district will be rebuilt with the help of a financing of four million lei (about 200 thousand euros), the amount was offered through the European Union project EU4Moldova: key regions, the EU Delegation to Moldova announced yesterday.
Beleu lake is known for its colonies of pelicans and expanses of water lilies, being the core of the Nature Reserve Lower Prut, a strategic tourist destination for the Southern region of Moldova.
"Access to the lake is made by crossing Nuferilor street, the shortest, but also the least comfortable option - a country road that is flooded in some places," indicates the cited source.
This June, Nuferilor Street, which is 600 meters long, underwent repairs, and in half a year the artery should become functional. It will have a width of 7 meters, two traffic lanes and sidewalks.
