Katerina Șoșeva winner of Family Connections photo contest for Moldova

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - Katerina Șoșeva is the winner of the photo contest, Family Connections, for Moldova. Her project, Sem'ya” (The Family) was awarded prize at the gala of winners of the photo contest, EU NEIGHBOURS EAST and FOTOFESTIWAL, held at the Tbilisi (Georgia) Photography & Multimedia Museum.
The photo contest, financed by the European Union, invited professional photographers from those six countries of the Eastern Partnership - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine – to present for the contest a string of photos on the subject, Family Connections. By one photographer from each country won a prize worth 1,000 euros.
Katerina Șoșeva worked as manager and florist, before orienting herself to photograph. Her first personal photograph project, Sem'ya, was carried out in 2017. Since then, she has worked as photographer for diverse NGOs and mass media institutions, as well as developed new personal projects. Katerina was one of those three photographers preselected from Moldova.
Those six winners were elected by a team of international jurymen from an overall number of over 400 initial candidacies. Eighteen photographers were selected out of them – by three ones for each country; they were invited to the prize awarding event in Tbilisi.
The contest was organized within the EU Neighbours East Programme, in partnership with Fotofestiwal from Poland.
