Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Pre-vetting Commission has evaluated 40 candidates judges and non-judges during the contest for the office of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM).
Twenty eight candidates judges, registered for the contest organized by CSM, and 12 candidates non-judges, admitted to the contest organized by the parliament, have been evaluated. Only 31 candidates out of those 40 went through the entire process of evaluation, as nine ones either withdrew from the contest or failed to submit the compulsory acts provided for by the law in the terms established; this lead to their failure to pass the evaluation.
Five judges and three non-judges passed the evaluation out of those 40 candidates. Thirty candidates took part in the public hearings held by the Pre-Vetting Commission, as two candidates asked for the evaluation without participating in the public interview exam.
Out of those 32 decisions on failure to pass the evaluation, 18 candidates judges and four candidates non-judges appealed the decisions at the Supreme Court of Justice. For the time being, two of the contestations were settled with the maintenance of the Pre-Vetting Commission’s decisions.
