Moldovan government approved draft state budget law for 2025

Chisinau, Dec. 4 /MOLDPRES/- Government today approved the draft state budget law for 2025. The main measures are related to the implementation of new salary policies, the granting of energy compensations, as well as the increase in social benefits, the government's communication department has reported.
The document sees salary increases of 15 percent for medical staff and about 9 percent for teachers, some law enforcement employees and other categories of budget employees.
The basic reference value for calculating salaries in the budgetary sector will be increased by about 5% compared to 2024 - from 2,100 lei to 2,200 lei. The minimum wage in the budgetary sector will increase from 5,000 lei to 5,500 lei.
Another important measure included in next year's budget is the winter energy compensation in the form of a monetary payment to the most vulnerable consumers.
From May 1, 2025, the amount of the minimum old-age pension will increase. It will be 3,300 lei for people who have completed a full 40 years of contribution at the time the pension is determined. Some social benefits will also be increased, including for victims of political repression and war veterans.
In terms of the expenditure, spending on projects financed from external sources will be increased by MDL 247 million or 6.7% compared to 2024. Some 78 projects financed from external sources will be carried out, worth more than 3.91 billion lei.
Capital investment expenditure will also increase in 2025 - by 337.8 million lei or 18.1% compared to 2024, as 12 new projects will be started.
In total, state budget revenues for 2025 will amount to 71.55 billion lei, while expenditures will total 85.44 billion lei. The budget deficit will be 13.89 billion lei.
Also today, the Government approved the draft law on the state social insurance budget for 2025. The total revenue and expenditure of the state social insurance budget for next year is estimated at 46.51 billion lei.
At the same time, the draft law on compulsory health care insurance fund for 2025 sets revenues and expenditures worth 17.39 billion lei.
