Chisinau, Dec. 4 /MOLDPRES/- In the 2024-2025 cold season, citizens will receive compensation ranging from 300 to 800 lei. The cabinet approved today the regulation on energy compensations, the government's communication department has reported.

Under the draft, for the period from November 2024 to March 2025, the aid will be offered only in monetary payment. The amount could be transferred to a card or collected at the post office.

Also, the rules for the cost of energy during the cold period of the year and the amount of the minimum household expenses, depending on the composition of each family and the type of energy used for heating, were approved.

The amount of compensation will be calculated individually for each household. The calculation will not take into account the applicant's historical energy consumption in the previous season, but only the approved energy cost norm.

Also today, it was approved to increase the budget line for compensation by 111 million lei. "Government will stand by citizens and provide necessary support in the context of rising natural gas prices. Today, we come with the first adjustment of additional support for compensation," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

In order to receive compensation, all household consumers must submit an application, regardless of whether they applied last year. It can be filled in online on the platform compensatii.gov.md or with the help of registrars. Applications can be submitted throughout the cold season, until the 25th of each month, but the compensation will be granted from the month of application.
