Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu today met Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Matyas Szilagyi.
The two
officials assessed and appreciated the ascendant dynamic of the economic
cooperation between Moldova and Hungary, the Economics Ministry’s communication
and media relations service has reported.
The sides
analysed the opportunities for deepening the relations between the two states,
increasing trade and cooperation flow in the energy sector (especially, interconnection
to the European market and energy efficiency).
Candu said that there was economic potential between the two states, which had not been turned to account: “The entrance into force of the Association
Agreement between Moldova and EU, comprising the Deep and Comprehensive Free
Trade Agreement, gives Moldova the role of economic bridge between East and
West. The Free Economic Zones, Industrial Parks, Giurgiulesti International
Port from Moldova provide the necessary infrastructure for investors, and the
Hungarian companies can produce in Moldova goods meant to be exported to the
Commonwealth of Independent States member countries and vice versa”, he noted.
For his
part, the ambassador highlighted Hungary’s willingness to develop strategic
partnerships with Moldova. “Soon, we will present a programme supporting
initiatives of investments via financial instruments to guarantee and provide
financing lines for Moldovan-Hungarian projects, carried out in Moldova and
offered by Eximbank Hungary. At the same time, we appreciate Moldovan products
and we want them to reach the Hungarian market, and the high quality Hungarian
products should be exported to Moldova”, he said.
The sides emphasised that there were prerequisites for cooperation, and to turn them to
good account, it was needed to organize more forums for business people, encourage the participation of companies and producers in trade,
agri-industrial exhibitions etc., organized in Moldova and Hungary.
