Moldovan PM, European official broach financial-related issues

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici has met Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis. The two officials discussed the evolutions in the banking sector, as well as the financial assistance the EU is to offer to Moldova, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
In the context, Gaburici tackled the reforms the government was committed to implement relying on the EU support. "Especially, in short and medium term, we have decided to ensure stabilization of the banking sector, sanctioning and combating financial frauds and a balance between sustainable fiscal consolidation and boosting economic development. Measures to harmonize legislation in the banking and financial sector will be taken as well", he noted.
Gaburici today concludes his official visit to Brussels. He held separete meetings with more representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament, as well as with President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
