Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca today afternoon. The officials tackled bilateral ties, Moldova’s European integration and regional situation, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The prime minister stressed that the Moldovan government stayed firmly committed to European integration and noted that the country further relied on Romania’s solid support to this end.

"The government I lead aims to continue the justice reform, fighting corruption, fulfil economic growth and get clarity in the financial and banking system. I want an honest relationship with Romania, we need this friendly support on our path to the European Union, "said Chiril Gaburici.

He thanked Romania for its support to carry out bilateral projects, voicing confidence that future cooperation would be equally good.

For his part, Marius Lazurca said that Moldova would be backed politically, economically and financially by the Romanian state to achieve its European goal. "Romania remains firmly committed to the development of political dialogue and practical cooperation with Chisinau," said the Bucharest-based diplomat.

The officials reviewed the main projects completed, as well as the ones due to be implemented in Moldova with Romania's support: the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline and energy infrastructure, Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) and transport interconnection projects, as well as reconstruction of bridges across the Prut River.
