Moldovan agricultural cooperatives producers may get grants worth up to 350,000 dollars

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - The groups of agricultural producers from the horticulture sector may receive grants of up to 350,000 dollars in the third stage of the World Bank Maharashtra Agricultural Competitiveness Project’s (MAC-P) Access to Markets programme. Files may be submitted between 10 April and 30 May.
Art a today's news conference, Agriculture and Food Minister Ion Sula said that many farmers had already received grants in the first two phases of the project. Thus, according to the minister, 17 producers groups benefited from World Bank's support in 2014.
A representative of the MAC-P project implementation unit, Olga Sainciuc, said agricultural producer groups applying for grants should be made up of at least five members from rural areas, who are to have at least three years of experience in the field and make joint investments.
Grants will be used to purchase technological and post-harvest equipment. Their amount will account for 50 per cent of the total investment made by the producers group. The overall budget of the programme is seven million dollars.
