European Investment Bank to open office in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - The European Investment Bank (EIB) will open an office in Moldova. An agreement to this effect was signed by Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and EIB Vice-President Wilhelm Molterer in Chisinau today.
According to Gaburici, this office will offer Moldova many advantages, such as "access to various opportunities and new projects from EIB, advancing relations with the European community and the achievement of the European integration objective."
Wilhelm Molterer said that Moldova was at the forefront of the Eastern Partnership countries with which the EIB was implementing more projects.
"We will continue to support Moldova’s transition, the European perspective of the country, by providing backing in such sectors as business, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, etc.", said the EIB vice-president.
So far, 13 financing agreements have been signed between Moldova and EIB, offering public authorities and the private sector access to funds worth over 550 million euros for the implementation of projects on roads infrastructure and water supply, agriculture and food.
