Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Buiucani district court of Chisinau municipality today ruled to transfer the former health minister, Andrei Usatii, from isolation ward to home arrest for 30 days.
Anti-corruption prosecutor Dorin Campan has said the prosecutors would most likely resort to appeal.
According to Campan, the ex-health minister is banned from leaving the perimeter of his home and is obliged to answer all the control calls by law-enforcers.
Sixteen people, mostly heads of hospitals and Health Ministry subdivisions, were detained by the National Anti-corruption Centre (CNA) on 10 April 2015 in a file on corruption on public acquisitions in the health system.
The concerned persons are suspected on having faked tenders for purchasing sanitary equipment, for which they got a reward worth 5-10 per cent of the transaction's sum.
