Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The government approved a regulation on the procedure of issuing and withdrawing the approved export license, in order to enforce the provisions of the Customs Code of Moldova and facilitate foreign trade, as well as the procedure for the certification of origin of goods at a meeting today, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The document was drafted in line with the commitments undertaken by Moldova, set out in the Association Agreement, and aims at simplifying the procedure for confirmation of the origin of domestic goods that are exported to the EU in preferential regime, with exemption from customs duties.
Under the regulation, economic agents that will get the status of approved exporter shall enjoy the right to confirm the preferential origin of goods on own account. This implies that approved exporters will no longer ask the customs institution to issue the certificate of origin of goods, but they will confirm it independently, by completing the invoice declaration. This provision will contribute to the export of local goods to the European area and will significantly cut costs and time needed for the confirmation of the origin of goods.
Another government decision, approved today, will supplement the list of institutions required to submit the necessary information on risk analysis in customs sector to the Customs Service. The list includes airlines and railroads, which will provide information about passengers and freight; postal companies - about the recipients of parcels; State Registration Chamber - about registered legal entities; Cadastre state enterprise - about the recorded goods; State Tax Service - about foreign goods trade.
