About 4,000 Moldovan servicemen participate in removing consequences of last April natural calamities

Chisinau, 04 May /MOLDPRES/ – About 4,000 soldiers in term and contract of the National Army participated, on 21 April – 02 May, in the works to wind up consequences of the snowfall at the end of April in the districts of the central and southern part of Moldova.
According to the commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Cutie, in collaboration with the representatives of the relevant structures, the soldiers of the National Army sapped the roads, unlocked the access ways to the public institutions, participated in the deforestation and removal of the trees that had collapsed due to bad weather. The National Army special transport equipment and technical equipment in number of 151 units were involved in the works. The National Army's staff also participated in the unlocking of the river Bic river.
The cited source specified that in Straseni district, the Engineering Battalion soldiers unlocked the national road M14, on the Negresti – Chisinau localities, trailed 150 cars blocked in the snow.
General Cutie also mentioned that the National Army provided 15 military units for transporting the patients to Health Ministry hospital and offering first aid.
