Family of natives donates ambulance to village of southern district of Moldova

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ – A family from village of Colibasi, Cahul district, which lives abroad has donated an ambulance to locality. The gift is in the context of the National Days of Moldova, as well as in agenda of the Diaspora Day, marked in Moldova at the end of August.

The Liviu family and Aliona Cojan have been abroad for many years. They live in GB, develop a transport business there, but they also do not forget the native village – Colibasi. "It is a pride for our contrymen, for those left in the world who do not forget about their native locality, their native village, their parental wheat, always thinking of home. This beautiful family made a wonderful gesture. This car will bring an improvement of conditions and services that the specialists in the field provide. We were able to motivate the contrymen to be home not only by thought, but also by deeds”, said to ziuadeazi.md. mayor of village Colibasi, Ion Dolganiuc.  

The vehicle will replace the technically obsolete car, being sent to the Colibasi Emergency Medical Centre, which serves 03 localities: Vadul lui Isac, Colibasi and Branza.

"We did it from soul to soul, to native locality. Life is like a second, often a second can help you stay alive. For it we decided to take an ambulance, the most equipped, to be at the right time, for persons who need help”, said Liviu Cojan.

"We hope to help our countrymen. So as to use it less, be as healthy as possible, but it should be always at hand,” said Aliona Cojan, quoted by ziuadeazi.md.

For the gift to the village, Liviu Cojan was awarded with the honorary title of Honorary Citizen of village Colibasi.

The active involvement of Diaspora in the life of Colibasi village began in 2016, with participation of locality in the project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Migration and Local Development. During this period, together with the natives from abroad, there were built more objects, such as: a multipurpose sports hall, a fire and volunteer rescuers station in Colibasi, and there were carried out many social projects.
