About 300 public transport stops to be renovated in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ – There will be renovated almost 300 public transit waiting stops in Chisinau municipality. The subject was discussed by the acting general mayor of Chisinau, Adrian Talmaci, and the representative of the company that manages the stops.
The manager of the company announced that it has exceeded the insolvency period and resumed its commitment to maintain the waiting stations, arranged 12 years ago, in exchange for placing the billboards. Also, the economic agent requested the involvement of authorities in the prevention of cases of vandalisation of renewed objectives.
The works of rehabilitation of the public transport stops started in April 2019, with 10 monthly objectives to be repaired. According to the Chisinau city hall’s information and media communication service, so far, there have been renovated 42 stops on the main streets of the city.
The acting general mayor requested the presentation of a schedule of works on rehabilitation of stops. The mayor also proposed the creation of a working group, consisting of representatives of the municipal services of profile and economic agent, as to provide support in order to speed up the works to the planned objectives.
Commencing 2007, a local company committed to invest €2.5 mln in the arrangement of 302 public transport waiting stops in Chisinau municipality, based on a public – private partnership with the Chisinau City Hall. The economic agent was going to arrange and maintain the objectives, in exchange for placing the billboards in the stops. Currently, several waiting stops are in a deplorable state, to the dissatisfaction of the Chisinau inhabitants. In this situation they would have arrived after the company that had to maintain them had gone into insolvency.
