At the ceremony on the event’s inauguration, the festival’s director, Maxim Carlan, said that the fourth issue of the festival contained films worth of international festivals.
Attending the event, the director of the National Cinematography Centre, Valeriu Jereghi, said that MOLDOX was not only a festival, but also a creation laboratory. The cinematographic industry grows and it is only natural that we will need much more gifted and educated people in the long run. I am happy that, at this edition, we will enjoy a first ever screening of a film which was recognized internationally,” Valeriu Jereghi also said.
According to Cahul mayor Nicolae Dandis, the festival is an important event not only for the Cahul municipality, but also for the country, contributing to the promotion of the national film and cinematography.
For his part, the director of the Akzente German Cultural Centre, Corina Garla, said she was satisfied with the fact that, in 2019, decision-makers had managed to ensure the German presence at the festival. It is about Denis Pavlovic, who was invited to the Interaction workshop.
Organizers said that MOLDOX was the only festival of documentary film from Moldova to combine the mission of residents’ enlightening – through free of charge access to films – with the one of training emerging film-makers, interested in creating documentaries with social impact.
