More French experts to come to Chisinau to provide support in implementing reforms

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - More French experts will come to Moldova this autumn to provide support in the implementing of reforms in the justice and health sectors. Secretary of State for European Affairs of France Amélie de Montchalin, on a visit to Moldova, made statements to this effect in Chisinau today.
After a meeting with Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, the French official said that she was keeping a close eye on the events taking place in Moldova. “It is important for the reforms to be made; yet, it is more important that they have impact on the life of each citizen,” Amélie de Montchalin said.
The Secretary of State for European Affairs of France specified that she had discussed with Nicu Popescu including the Transnistrian conflict settlement. In this respect, the official said that “the desideratum is to have a sustainable and solid political settlement of a conflict which has been lasting for too much time already.”
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu said that the visit to Chisinau by the French official reconfirmed the support of France for Moldova and for the political and economic dialogue, both at the bilateral level and with EU. “Today, we developed this dialogue, so that Moldova is able to be reconnected to the European space after more years of problems. We discussed the bilateral relation, our wish to boost the political dialogue, as well as the getting of practical benefit for the citizens of Moldova and France. We also tackled joint projects in infrastructure, in the fiscal sector and discussed the recognition of the driver’s licences and education diplomas,” Nicu Popescu noted.
Secretary of State for European Affairs of France Amélie de Montchalin is on a visit to Chisinau on 12-13 September 2019. At the visit, the official had meetings with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Maia Sandu. At the same time, Amélie de Montchalin will discuss with one of the deputy parliament speakers, the leader of the Moldovan Democratic Party, Pavel Filip, as well as with civil society’s representatives. Today, at the State University of Moldova, Nicolae Popescu and Amélie de Montchalin had a meeting with 250 Francophone students, during which the sides approached the current challenges at the European level, the EU-Moldova relations and the key role of the young people from Moldova in the creation of a modern, prosperous and democratic state.
