Over 12,700 Moldovan citizens receive electronic signatures from Centre for Information Technologies in Finance in first nine months of 2019

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - The electronic signature becomes more and more demanded by the citizens of Moldova. In the first nine months of 2019, the number of private people who received electronic signatures from the registration centre of the public institution, Centre for Information Technologies in Finance (CTIF), increased by 11.6 per cent against the same period of 2018 and exceeded the figure of 12,700 citizens. Meanwhile, 11,200 citizens renewed their public key certificates.
Data by CTIF’s registration centre shows that, on the reference period, the number of private persons and legal entities who received electronic signatures released by the institution increased by 7.6 per cent against the first nine months of the year before and amounted to about 15,300. According to the situation from 30 September 2019, there are more than 22,800 private people and legal entities having electronic signatures in all.
The CTIF press service noted that the holders of electronic signatures can sign from distance, online and non-stop, acts, reports, applications, without standing in queues at offices of public institutions, thus saving time and money.
The CTIF’s registration centre releases to applicants, upon request, the public key certificate and the device for the creation of electronic signatures (stick) and concludes with them the contract on providing certification services in the electronic signatures sector for a one-year term. The public key certificate, for security reasons, is renewed once per year, at the end of the validity term.
