Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC), at a 10 October meeting of JCC, reiterated that the presence of “border guards” in the Security Zone, as well as their abuses needed to be considered together, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The Transnistrian region’s delegation is the only which has been opposing an initiative by Russia’s representatives to analyze and verify the situation emerged as a result of Tiraspol’s unilateral actions starting from 11 July 2019. For this reason, the sides have repeatedly failed to reach a consensus position on subjects with debts on the agenda.
The participants in the meeting also tackled the provocations organized by the alleged Transnistrian security structures nearby the Pohrebea settlement, eastern Dubasari district, in last August. Although, in accordance with the basic acts, which establish the Commission’s powers, the participants agreed that the subject not be treated under the aspect of delimiting the territory, but only under the one of observing the Security Zone’s regime, the Transnistrian side distorts the essence of the problem.
Thus, a considerable number of weekly reports on the situation in the Security Zone have already accumulated on the agenda; the reports were not approved, on grounds that either they do not cover the infringements found out or the aspects allowing to objectively assess the infringements fixed were not elucidated.
In terms of organization, the appointed head of the Bender Police Inspectorate, Ivan Cebotari, who has earlier held the concerned office, was introduced to the JCC members.
