More than 9,000 lease contracts registered at Moldova's State Fiscal Service since early 2019

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - More than 9,500 contracts on rental/lease of real estate were registered at the State Fiscal Service (SFS) in the first nine months of 2019. As a result, revenues worth 16 million lei were collected in the budget, up by 4.8 million lei against the same period of the year before.   

At the same time, in last September, SFS continued the actions of compliance and verification of private people who rent real estate. As a result, on the period January – September, this year, 4,122 private persons were identified who rent/let out on hire real estate without their registration according to the legislation.   

Fiscal inspectors carried out controls at 520 private people who rent real estate, with the following payments additionally calculated at the budget: basic payments worth 587,400 lei, penalties of 29,400 lei and fines amounting to 89,300 lei.   

Under the legislation, the citizens letting out on hire real estate are obliged to register the rental contracts at SFS and pay a tax of seven per cent of the incomes got. The private people failing to fulfill their obligations, run the risk to be fined or sanctioned, in accordance with the provisions of the Fiscal Code.
