Moldovan speaker - We must all commit to combating poverty in country

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii made a statement on the international day for poverty eradication at the today’s parliament meeting, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

"I want to note that October 17 is the International Day for Poverty Eradication. By the resolution adopted on December 22, 1992, the UN General Assembly declared October 17 as an International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

Poverty eradication in all its forms and dimensions remains one of the biggest challenges for all societies, including Moldova. We must all commit ourselves and find new solutions involving all actors in the system to initiate and develop concrete measures to fight poverty in our country. This is a very topical issue, " Greceanii said.
