Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The term of work of the inquiry commission for elucidating the de jure and de factor circumstances as to the attempt of anti-constitutional coup d’etat undertaken by Moldova’s Democratic Party (PDM) through the Constitutional Court and Prosecutor General’s Office has been extended by 60 days. The MPs adopted a decision to this end today.
The request to extend the term came from lawmaker Mihai Popsoi. He said that 60 days were still needed, so that the Commission receives all answers from the authorities notified. “Besides, the commission has not managed to hear all people who have or might have information on the object of investigation,” Popsoi noted.
The inquiry commission for elucidating the de jure and de factor circumstances as to the attempt of anti-constitutional coup d’etat undertaken by PDM, made through the Constitutional Court and Prosecutor General’s Office, was set up on 18 June 2019. The commission members must come up with a report in parliament in period of 180 days.
