Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- From 1 October, media outlets operating within the buildings managed by the government pay lower taxes on rent, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
It is about 42 journalistic companies located in the Press House, in the Soiuz Shopping Center and in the building No180 on bd. Stefan cel Mare, who will pay less by about 400 lei per year for rent of one square meter of space. If until now, the average annual price for rent of one square meter was 1,217 lei, from October the media will pay about 811 lei.
The taxes for the rent of the space were reduced after the Secretary General of the Government, Andrei Spînu, issued an order in this regard, on 9 September. The decision was made following several notifications from the press on exaggerated prices for renting spaces.
According to the data, the media outlets rented spaces according to the maximum market coefficient, worth 1.5. Thus, based on the issued order the amount of the market coefficient was reduced from 1.5 to 1.0 for perfecting the lease agreements between the media sources and the General Directorate for the administration of the buildings of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. Respectively, the lease agreements for 42 media companies have been modified, which will now pay lower rental rates.
