Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - Diplomat Valeriu Turea has been detached from the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) to the office of acting director general of the Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) for a one-year period, Prime Minister Maia Sandu has said in the beginning of a cabinet meeting.

The PM noted that Valeriu Turea was a true professional, who knows the sector well – qualities which he proved in 2015-2016, when he held the position of BRD director general.

In 2016-2019, Turea acted as minister and adviser of Moldova’s Embassy in Romania.

On 30 August, after the final stage of a contest held by the State Chancellery for holding the office of BRD head, the government informed that none of the four candidates allowed to the interview had got the minimum number of points needed.
