Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ -The electoral agitation is strictly forbidden on the day of elections and on the day before. Those who fail to observe this rule run the risk of being fined. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) made the warning, in the context of the holding of the general local elections and new parliamentary polls in several uninominal districts on 20 October.
Thus, on 19 and 20 October, the carrying out of activities with tint of electoral agitation and the coming of candidates in elections to TV or radio programmes is not allowed. Also, the electoral contenders cannot make transfers to/from the account, Electoral Fund.
According to CEC, the continuation of the electoral agitation on the aforementioned days by mass media, electoral contenders and citizens represents administrative contravention and is sanctioned with fine. In case of private people, the size of the fine is up to 1,500 lei and in case of decision-makers or electoral candidates, the fine is 2,500 lei at the most.
