Six COVID-19 cases registered in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The number of cases of COVID-19 has reached six in Moldova. Those two persons infected today have recently returned from Italy. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made public this information at the end of a meeting of the single commander centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus.
According to Dumbraveanu, in the last two hours, another two suspect persons were put in the Chisinau-based Toma Ciorba hospital. At the same time, one parent and five children are hospitalized at the municipal hospital of contagious diseases.
The health minister noted that the mother and child who had fled from the ambulance on 11 March were found too and samples were collected from them. ‘’The health condition of the patients with COVID-19 is of medium gravity and the dynamic is positive,’’ Dumbraveanu said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March informed that the COVID-19 epidemic can be declared as pandemic. So far, more than 118,000 people from over 110 countries have been infected since the discovery of coronavirus in Wuhan (China) in late last year. More than 4,200 people have died of this virus all over the world.
