More and more Moldovan citizens have access to internet

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) has informed that, in 2019, the overall number of users who accessed the Internet via mobile phones increased by 51.6 per cent and stood at 1 million 546 thousand people.

Data presented by ANRCETI shows that about one million 450 thousand beneficiaries accessed the internet through smartphones and about 97,000 used the internet by modems and cards.

The data unveiled by mobile phone companies from Moldova shows that the total number of mobile broadband internet users increased by 9.8 per cent and the rate of penetration of internet access services grew by 9.4 percentage points and amounted to 88.8 per cent.
