New measures approved for Talmaza settlement from Security Zone

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) today submitted a demarche to the other co-heads of the delegations of Russia and Transnistria, as well as the OSCE Mission in Moldova on the new measures adopted for the Talmaza settlement, placed in the Security Zone, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.      

It is worth mentioning that, according to a decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) from 8 April, quarantine regime was established in the Talmaza settlement, Stefan Voda district, beginning with 9 April at 8:00. The decision was taken, taking into account that more cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in this settlement, with almost 7,000 residents.   

The quarantine measures enforced in the Talmaza village are provided for according to the instructions established in the CSE Decision No 6 from 26 March 2020. The measures will be ensured by a team of 10 people at the most of the law-enforcement authorities and servicemen, who will not bear guns and will ensure public order and the quarantine regime.   

On 8 April 2020, the new measures applied in the Talmaza settlement from the Security Zone were coordinated between the JCC co-heads.  

It was established that, after the quarantine regime is cancelled, the staff ensuring the quarantine measures will be withdrawn from the Security Zone.  

We remind that Moldova’s delegation to JCC fulfills its obligations in line with the legal framework.
