Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Global Partnership for Education, through the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF) Moldova, has provided 70,000 dollars for backing the carrying out of the distance education process. Thus, due to the support provided by development partners, 80 units of computer technology will be bought for teachers and pupils.
The computer technology is to be delivered to the education institutions selected by the local specialty bodies in the education sector and the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC).
At the same time, support packages will be purchased and distributed to pre-school children and primary school pupils. The Education Ministry, in cooperation with UNICEF, will organize training courses for educators on the organization and carrying out of the distance education process in the early education institutions, in quarantine conditions.
„We express deep gratitude to the Global Partnership for Education and UNICEF Moldova for the support provided to ensure a quality education,’’ MECC sources said.
In last late March, UNICEF Moldova launched a virtual chatbot COVID-19, in order to provide quick answers to questions young people might put about the virus, as well as to help them be aware about the noxious effect of the fake news, myths and stigmatizations related to them.
The pre-school children, pupils and students from Moldova have been in quarantine regime since 11 March 2020, which was extended till 15 May, as long as the emergency state lasts. Once the education process suspended, the education institutions and teachers started online teaching courses, with special attention paid to the disciplines due to be included in the national exams.
