Moldovan deputy premier has meeting with Head of Council of Europe's Office in Chisinau

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic today had an online discussion with Head of the Council of Europe’s office in Chisinau William Massolin. The officials brought for discussion more issues on the observance of human rights in Moldova, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The sides discussed prospects for the implementation of projects on strengthening the trust between the two banks of Dniester, including the organization of trainings for teachers of French language from more lyceums of Moldova, due in next October.
The focus of the discussion represented the individual cases of human rights’ violation in the Transnistrian region and identifying optimum solutions to them, with the Council of Europe’s involvement. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic reviewed the latest alarming developments as to the human rights in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, stressing the need to ensure the observance of the international conventions Moldova is party to.
In the context, the sides exchanged opinions on the reactivation of the mechanisms of ensuring the human rights in the Transnistrian region.
Another subject discussed was dealing with the participation in the leading committee for monitoring the implementation of the Council of Europe’s action plan for Moldova, the 2017-2020 years.
The sides agreed on maintaining a close dialogue in continuation.
