Education institutions from all over Moldova to further work according to models selected

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The education institutions from all over Moldova will further work according to the models selected in the beginning of the school year. The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) today made statements to this effect, in the context of the establishment of the emergency state in the public health sector in the administrative and territorial units for which the Red Code alert degree was set.
Under the Decision No 33 of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP), the adjusting (toughening/relaxation) of the public health measures, which regard the work of the education institutions, will be coordinated preliminarily with the territorial extraordinary public health commission.
„In accordance with the Instructions on the protection measures which must be enforced for organizing the work of the public and education institutions, in the epidemiological context of COVID-19, approved through the Decision No 26 of CNESP, if the COVID-19 diagnose is confirmed in a pupil/teacher – all pupils from the academic class where he/she was studying is placed in self-isolation at home for a 14-day period and the calculation of days is made beginning with the last day of contact with the pupil who was positively tested for COVID-19.’’ The class will continue the education in online regime for the aforementioned period (14 days). The decision on the self-isolation of the teachers who taught in the concerned academic class will be taken by the head of the education institution, in coordination with the territorial physician epidemiologist, proceeding from the specific character and epidemiological risks.’’, MECC said.
The decision on the placement of an education institution in quarantine is taken by the territorial extraordinary public health commission.
To enhance the efficiency of the measures enforced of prevention and control of the COVID-19 infection, as well as of the efficiency of the resources’ management, CNESP established, as of 1 October 2020, emergency state in the public health sector in territorial and administrative units. Also, decision-makers established the degrees of alert, depending on the indexes of the risk level. The Red Code degree is assimilated to the emergency state in the public health sector.
