Moldovan cabinet approves draft law on government's representative in territory

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today voted for the approval of a draft law on the Government’s Representative in the territory and the Office of the Government’s Representative in the territory. The draft will be submitted to parliament for consideration and adoption.
Under the cabinet decision, this law regulates the mission, duties, powers and rights of the Government’s Representative in the territory and the Office of the Government’s Representative in the territory, as well as the way their work is organized and carried out.
The law stipulates also the principles of the activity of the Government’s Representative in the territory and the Office. Or, their work is based on the following principles: lawfulness, impartiality and objectiveness; transparency and free access to public interest information; efficiency; responsibility; professionalism; orientation towards citizen. ‘’In its activity, the Government’s representative in the territory is also guided by the principles provided for in the legislation on the local public administration and administrative decentralization,’’ according to the draft.
The work of the Government’s Representative in the territory and the Office is financed from the state budget and other sources, according to the law on public money and budgetary and fiscal responsibility.
The draft law was worked out in the context of the carrying out of the State Chancellery’s action plan for 2020.
